The Role

We are an award-winning specialist housing charity based in Southeast London looking for a Positive Behaviour Support Worker to join our team.

In this role, you’ll work closely with adults facing various mental health challenges, including learning disability, anxiety, depression, and substance misuse. Your focus will be to empower clients, help them achieve their goals, and support their recovery journey.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage a caseload of clients, developing person-centred support plans.
  • Welcome new clients, complete risk assessments, and facilitate inductions.
  • Offer practical advice on welfare, benefits, and housing.
  • Assist clients with daily living skills and promote their independence.
  • Ensure properties are safe, clean, and well-maintained.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues, external agencies, and healthcare professionals.
  • Build positive relationships with clients to understand and meet their individual needs.
  • Plan and review SMART goals to track progress.
  • Handle incidents or challenging behaviours with professionalism and effective de-escalation techniques.
  • Maintain accurate records using the QVT client management database.
  • Conduct regular property checks and address health and safety concerns.

The Person

We’re looking for someone who:

  • Has experience in mental health or supportive environments.
  • Is empathetic, kind, patient, and resilient.
  • Understands housing and welfare benefits.
  • Can work flexibly, including occasional unsociable hours.
  • Communicates effectively and works well under pressure.

You’ll need to be numerate, literate, and computer-literate, with the ability to use client management systems. A driving licence and own vehicle are desirable but not essential.
