Behaviour Mentor/Support Assistant
Location: Croydon
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 3:30pm
Start Date: ASAP
About the Role:
We are looking for dedicated and compassionate Behaviour Mentor/Support Assistants to join an amazing team in Croydon, supporting children aged 7 to 14 with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.
In this rewarding role, you will work directly with students, helping to manage their behaviour, develop positive coping strategies, and foster a supportive learning environment.
Responsibilities:
- Provide tailored support to children with SEMH needs, ensuring a safe and positive school experience
- Assist with managing and de-escalating challenging behaviour
- Work collaboratively with teachers and staff to implement individualized support plans
- Act as a mentor to students, encouraging their social and emotional development
- Support academic and personal growth through one-on-one and small group activities
Requirements:
- Previous experience in a similar role is preferred, particularly working with SEMH students
- Strong understanding of behaviour management techniques
- Excellent communication skills and a patient, empathetic approach
- Ability to work well as part of a team and build positive relationships with students
