Join a leader in intelligent drive technology and systems, as an Application Engineer. This role is crucial in supporting a diverse range of customers across the UK and Ireland in industries such as automotive, energy, and more. You will be instrumental in developing solutions and providing comprehensive support, from new build projects with OEMs to aftermarket services.
Day-to-day of the Application Engineer role:- Work closely with customers and OEMs to understand and anticipate their needs, developing effective solutions.
- Maintain a deep understanding of the automotive market, identifying trends and technologies that can enhance our offerings.
- Engage in joint development projects, providing problem-solving, troubleshooting, and technical advice.
- Ensure compliance with quality control standards and industry regulations.
- Prepare and maintain technical documentation, including user manuals and specifications.
- Provide technical support during sales processes and commissioning phases.
- Plan and execute project planning for electric drivetrains in commercial vehicles.
- Conduct feasibility studies, vehicle data analysis, and testing of test and prototype vehicles.
- Commission and accept new vehicles, ensuring high standards of customer service.
- Support the implementation of standardized working practices and assist in planning future projects.
- Manage documentation and report on patterns of failure or areas of concern.
- Participate in technical service meetings and act as the first point of contact for customer queries or complaints.
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or electrical engineering.
- Experience in field services or the engineering/automotive industry.
- Strong knowledge of commercial automotive systems and components.
- Proficiency in Electrical Engineering and basic understanding of Matlab/Simulink/Stateflow.
- Skilled in C/C++ programming and capable of handling Vector CANalyzer and Vector Toolchain.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and project management skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team and collaborate across departments.
