1:1 Learning Support Assistant - Croydon
Academics are currently seeking a compassionate and dedicated 1:1 Learning Support Assistant to join a fantastic Mainstream Primary School in Croydon and provide individualised support to a pupil with additional learning needs.
Key Responsibilities: 1:1 Learning Support Assistant - Croydon
- Provide dedicated 1:1 support for a pupil with Special Educational Needs (SEN), adapting learning activities to meet their individual needs
- Assist the class teacher with differentiated learning tasks and activities
- Support the child's social, emotional, and academic development
- Help manage any challenging behaviour in a positive and proactive manner
- Promote independence and encourage the child's engagement in classroom activities
- Monitor and report on the pupil's progress to teachers and parents
- Work with the SENCO and other specialists to implement strategies outlined in the pupil's Education, Health, and Care Plan (EHCP) or individual support plan
- Ensure the pupil's safety and well-being throughout the school day
Requirements: 1:1 Learning Support Assistant - Croydon
- Experience working with children, particularly those with SEN (preferred but not essential)
- A patient, empathetic, and nurturing approach to supporting children's learning
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with both pupils and staff
- The ability to work flexibly as part of a team and independently
- A proactive and supportive attitude to help students overcome barriers to learning
- An understanding of safeguarding and child protection (training provided)
