Teaching Assistant (SEN)

We are seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to support pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN) in the vibrant community of Croydon. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about making a difference in children’s lives and has prior experience working in an educational setting.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Provide tailored support to SEN pupils, both within the classroom and in one-to-one settings.
  • Assist with the preparation and delivery of learning materials and activities under the guidance of the lead teacher.
  • Monitor and support the progress and development of SEN pupils, adapting to their individual needs.
  • Encourage positive behaviour and engagement in learning.
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to support the well-being and educational goals of SEN pupils.
  • Assist with the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and behavioural plans.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant or in a similar role supporting SEN pupils.
  • Understanding of the challenges faced by SEN pupils and strategies to support their learning and development.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Patience, empathy, and a positive, encouraging attitude.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently.
  • Relevant qualifications in education or SEN support are desirable.
