A wonderful opportunity has arisen for a Special Needs Teaching Assistant to join a supportive and inclusive primary school, starting in November. This full-time position will see you working closely with Year 4 students, providing tailored support to children with special educational needs (SEN), ensuring they have the best possible learning experience.

SEN Teaching Assistant Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide one-on-one or small group support to students with SEN, helping them engage with the curriculum and reach their full potential.
  • Assist the class teacher in creating a positive, inclusive, and engaging learning environment for all students.
  • Implement personalised education plans (IEPs) and strategies in collaboration with the SENCo and class teacher.
  • Encourage social, emotional, and behavioural development through supportive and nurturing interactions.
  • Promote independence and inclusion in both classroom activities and daily school life.
  • Adapt resources and materials to meet the individual needs of SEN pupils.
SEN Teaching Assistant Requirements:
  • Previous experience working with special needs children in a primary school setting.

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with teachers, parents, and other professionals.
