Day-to-day of the role:

  • Provide tailored support to students with Autism, ensuring their educational, social, and developmental needs are met.
  • Work closely with the educational team to implement individual learning plans.
  • Assist in the development of social skills and independence in a safe and nurturing environment.
  • Engage with students through interactive and sensory activities that promote learning and retention.
  • Provide personal care assistance as needed, ensuring dignity and respect at all times.
  • Monitor and report on the progress of students, maintaining accurate and up-to-date records.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as an SEN Teaching Assistant, particularly with Autism.
  • Experience in providing 1:1 support and personal care to students.
  • Strong understanding of the challenges faced by students with special educational needs.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A patient and resilient approach to working with children.
  • Relevant qualifications in education or special needs education are preferred.
