The Role: Student Support Assistant - Croydon
As a Student Support Assistant , you will provide essential support to the class teacher and help create an engaging, nurturing, and safe environment for children. You will work with pupils on a one-to-one basis and in small groups, supporting their educational and emotional development.
Key Responsibilities: Student Support Assistant - Croydon
- Assisting the class teacher with the preparation and delivery of lessons.
- Supporting students in their learning, both in and out of the classroom.
- Helping to create a positive, inclusive learning environment.
- Assisting with classroom management and behaviour.
- Supporting children with their social and emotional development.
- Working with pupils with additional needs, including those with ASD and other learning difficulties.
- Carrying out administrative tasks and preparing classroom resources as required.
- Ability to Commute to Croydon
About You:

Key Skills and Experience: Student Support Assistant
- Previous experience working with children in a school or childcare setting (desired but not essential).
- Patience, empathy, and a caring nature.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to manage small groups of students and maintain focus.
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to the needs of the school and students.
- Understanding of special educational needs, particularly ASD, would be an advantage.
