Job Title: Temporary SEN Teaching Assistant

Job Description:

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to support a Year 11 student with severe speech, language, and communication needs and a student with Epilepsy. The ideal candidate will work closely with the students to facilitate their learning and communication in a mainstream school setting.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-on-one support to the student during lessons and activities. - Assist in the implementation of individualized education plans (IEPs).
  • Employ communication aids and techniques to enhance the student’s learning experience. 
  • Collaborate with teachers, speech therapists, and other professionals to support the student’s educational and social development. 
  • Monitor and record the student’s progress and report to relevant staff members.
  • Foster a positive, inclusive, and supportive learning environment.

Requirements:

 - Previous experience working with children with speech, language, and          communication needs. 

- Knowledge of communication aids and techniques. 

- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

- Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting students with special educational needs.

- Relevant qualifications or training in special education (preferred but not essential).
