Speech and Language Teaching Assistant | Croydon, CR0 | Daily Pay: 94-105 per day | Full-time | Start Date: ASAP

Our partner school is eagerly seeking an experienced Speech and Language Teaching Assistant, to provide appropriate support to students across Key Stage 1. This great opportunity is available to start in November 2024, working long-term for the remainder of the academic year, and the potential of a permanent contract for the right candidate.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Providing 1:1, small group and classroom support.
  • Supporting children with phonics and speech development
  • Leading individual and small group intervention sessions
  • Liaising with the SENCO and class teacher about the pupil's progress, keeping accurate reports regularly
  • Supporting the class teacher with managing class behaviour

The school are seeking candidates who:

  • Hold a relevant teaching qualification or a degree. (Level 3 TA, HLTA, Speech and Language, Psychology Degree etc)
  • Previous experience working with children in primary school is essential.
  • Speech and Language experience or training is desirable.
  • Great understanding of various Special Educational Needs, including ADHD, ASD, and behavioural regulation.
  • Are able to quickly build relationships with students and staff.
  • Is patient and nurturing with anyone they work with.
