We are seeking a highly qualified Principal Adult Speech and Language Therapist to join our team at Croydon Health Services on a full-time, 12-week contract. This role is aimed at an experienced professional with a background in adult care within the NHS or similar healthcare settings. The successful candidate will be responsible for assessing, diagnosing, and managing adult patients with communication and swallowing disorders, supporting patient rehabilitation, and working collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to ensure the highest standards of care.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assessment & Diagnosis: Perform comprehensive assessments of adult patients to diagnose speech, language, and swallowing disorders.
  • Therapeutic Intervention: Develop and implement individualized therapy plans to address identified speech and swallowing difficulties in adult patients.
  • Patient & Family Education: Provide guidance and education to patients, families, and caregivers on therapeutic strategies, ensuring patient-centered care.
  • Collaborative Care: Work closely with other healthcare professionals, including nurses, doctors, and occupational therapists, to create and adjust care plans in a multidisciplinary setting.
  • Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate and timely records of patient assessments, care plans, and progress, in line with organizational standards.
  • Quality Assurance: Contribute to ongoing quality improvement efforts by participating in audits, training sessions, and policy reviews to enhance patient outcomes.
Essential Criteria:
  • Qualifications: HCPC-registered Speech and Language Therapist with extensive experience in adult care.
  • Experience Level: Minimum of Band 8a experience in an NHS or similar healthcare environment.
  • Skills: Proven expertise in managing complex cases related to communication and swallowing disorders in adult patients.
  • Availability: Immediate availability for a full-time, 12-week assignment.
  • Location: Ability to work on-site at Croydon Health Services.
