Job Title: Sports Coach & Learning Support Assistant

Job Description:

We are looking for an enthusiastic Sports Coach and Learning Support Assistant to join our team. This role combines sports coaching with classroom responsibilities, using physical activity to promote teamwork, positive behaviours, and student engagement.

This is a full-time, term-time only role (Monday to Friday - 08.15 - 16.00).

Key Responsibilities:

Sports Coaching:

  • Lead and organize sports activities to teach teamwork, cooperation, and leadership.

  • Develop inclusive programs that engage all students.

  • Monitor student progress and ensure a safe environment during sports activities.

Classroom Support:

  • Assist teachers with classroom management and student engagement.

  • Support students, particularly those with social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs.

  • Integrate physical activity into academic lessons.

Student Well-Being:

  • Use sports to promote mental well-being and healthy lifestyles.

  • Support students with SEMH concerns, collaborating with counsellors and staff.

Collaboration:

  • Work with staff to plan school events and maintain records of student progress.

  • Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues.

Qualifications:

  • Experience in sports coaching, ideally in an educational setting.

  • Ability to use sports to teach life skills and support student well-being.

  • Experience with SEMH students is a plus.

  • Relevant coaching qualifications preferred.
