HGV/PSV/Van Technicians needed

£50 000 - £55 000 per annum

Our client, a fleet of vehicles company, is seeking for skilled HGV/PSV/Van Technicians to join their team.

The ideal candidates will be responsible for servicing, repairing, and maintaining a wide variety of vehicles, ensuring they are roadworthy and meet safety standards. You will work with a variety of fleet vehicles, from vans to HGVs and PSVs, in a fast-paced environment.

Role: HGV/PSV/Van Technicians

Salary:£50 000 - £55 000 per annum

Hours: Day shift, 9am - 5pm,no weekends

Location: Croydon

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine inspections and servicing on a fleet of HGVs, PSVs, and vans.
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and electronic faults.
  • Conduct MOT preparation and repairs, ensuring all vehicles are compliant with legal and safety standards.
  • Carry out vehicle diagnostics using advanced diagnostic equipment.
  • Repair and replace parts as necessary, including engines, gearboxes, brakes, and suspension systems.
  • Maintain accurate records of all work completed.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, keeping a clean and organized workshop.
  • Collaborate with the rest of the team to provide the highest standards of service.

Requirements:

  • NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair.
  • Experience working with HGVs, PSVs, and vans (experience with fleet vehicles preferred).
  • Strong diagnostic skills and experience with vehicle diagnostics tools.
  • A thorough understanding of vehicle systems, including engines, brakes, and suspension.
  • Full, valid driving license (HGV/PSV license would be a bonus).
  • Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Strong communication and team-working skills.
