Ongoing Temporary Support Worker Roles (Days & Nights)

Are you passionate about making a positive impact on the lives of children? Do you want to support vulnerable young people in a caring and safe environment? We have an exciting opportunity for Support Workers to join a children's home in Cuckfield, West Sussex, on behalf of Apex Recruit and West Sussex Council.

Role: Support Worker
Location: Cuckfield, West Sussex
Shifts: Primarily Night Shifts, with some Day Shifts required
Pay: 14.43 per hour
Duration: Ongoing Temporary Role

Key Responsibilities:

Provide high-quality care and support to children and young people in a residential setting.
Promote emotional, social, and educational development in a safe and nurturing environment.
Assist with day-to-day tasks, including personal care, mealtimes, and activities.
Support children in developing life skills, promoting independence, and building confidence.
Work closely with a team to ensure individual care plans are followed and maintained.
Manage challenging behaviours with patience, empathy, and a person-centered approach.
Maintain accurate records, including daily logs, incident reports, and progress updates.
Participate in team meetings and contribute to the development of care strategies.
Essential Skills and Experience:

Previous experience in a child-focused care setting is preferred.
Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
Understanding of safeguarding policies and procedures.
A patient, compassionate, and resilient attitude.
A flexible approach to shift work, particularly during nights.
Enhanced DBS check (can be provided if necessary).
