Maintenance Engineer

Location: £47,000
Shifts: Rotating shifts - 6am to 2pm / 2pm to 10pm / 10am to 6pm

Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated Maintenance Engineer to join our team in Cullompton. In this role, you will be responsible for both planned and reactive maintenance tasks across the site, ensuring smooth operation of plant equipment while prioritizing safety, efficiency, and optimisation.

Key Responsibilities for this Maintenance Engineer position:  
- Maintain electrical and mechanical safety across the site, ensuring compliance with H&S, feed safety, and quality standards.  
- Perform planned preventative maintenance (PPM) using the Agility CMMS system, while working closely with operators to ensure equipment availability.  
- Respond quickly to breakdowns and participate in an out-of-hours rota for breakdown cover.  
- Conduct work only on safely isolated equipment, following strict safety protocols and risk assessments.  
- Minimize plant downtime by carrying out repairs and maintenance tasks efficiently.  
- Manage stock of spare parts using the P2P system, ensuring availability as required.  
- Supervise contractors and manage permits to work when needed.  
- Maintain a clean and organised workshop and actively participate in energy-saving initiatives.

Essential Requirements for this Maintenance Engineer position:
- Multiskilled engineer with City & Guilds Level 3/HNC or equivalent in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering.  
- Experience with planned maintenance systems and working in environments with conveyors and large moving equipment.  
- Strong working knowledge of 110v systems, three-phase electrical systems, and experience in food or heavy industry.  
- NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Engineering; 17th or 18th Edition qualifications are advantageous.  
- Time-served individual with a logical, problem-solving approach to maintenance issues.  
- Excellent communication skills and commitment to upholding high standards of health & safety.

Additional Information:  
- On-call shift patterns: If on-call, shifts run from 10am to 6pm, with the on-call shift beginning at 6pm and lasting 7 days.
