Job
The role of Finance Manager will give you the opportunity to be involved with the following:
- Preparation of the monthly Management Accounts, including appropriate commentary and analysis, with comparison to budgets and to propose action plans to resolve issues
- Prepare a weekly 12-week cashflow forecast with commentary
- Investigate operational variances to budget/forecast, working closely with other members of management to provide support and financial clarity on business performance
- Production of KPI reports to promote efficiency improvements across the business
- Working with the Commercial Manager to ensure the standard costs databases are kept up to date to allow accurate gross profit reporting along with purchase price variance visibility
- Management of all stock reporting processes
- To ensure that the HMRC VAT return is reviewed approved and submitted on a monthly basis
- Participation in the annual budget process and to challenge budget holders on financial performance
- Challenge management decisions to ensure financial implications are appropriately considered
- Assist the Head of Finance in developing a 'finance for non-finance’ attitude to reporting and communicating with other business functions
- Ensure the company complies with all financial statutory requirements, i.e., Companies House, HMRC etc
- Ensure the company complies with all business legal and statutory requirements
- Ensuring the financial records of the company are maintained in line with internal and external requirements
You
As Finance Manager you will be skilled &/or qualified in the following:
- Either Part Qualified, Qualified or Qualified by experience
- Good technical accounting knowledge
- Advanced user of Excel
- Sage Pro 50 / Sage Payroll experience
- Exceptional analytical skills and an ability to review the effectiveness of finance processes
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Well organised, delivery focused and able to work on own initiative
