Acorn by Synergie are currently looking for a HR manager to join one of our well-established clients in the Pontypool area.

Details of job role:* Monitoring and managing employee attendance and performance.* Undertaking disciplinary investigations and hearings.* Dealing with grievances & mediating between employees.

* Recruitment of employees - advertising the job, liaising with recruitment agencies & interviewing.* Carrying out employee inductions.* Training and developing of employees.* Liaising with colleges/universities in relation to apprentices.* Advising managers, foremen and employees on current employment law and the company's own employment policies and procedures.* Negotiating contracts, working conditions or redundancy packages with employees.* Managing the Company workwear (overalls) contract.* Running the Company's time & attendance system and producing reports in the absence of the Personnel Administrator.Skills and experience required:* Must have experience within a previous HR role.* Good communication skills and the ability to use all Microsoft office packages.* Must be approachable and very hands on as you will be required to spend a lot of time on the shop floor.* Have a calm and assertive firm attitude with the ability to work under pressure without direct supervision.Hours of work and pay rate:* 4 day working week Monday - Thursday but some Fridays will be required. Working hours will be discussed at interview. * Minimum of 40 hours per week.* £40,000 per annum.Benefits:* Pension Scheme with Royal London, contribution scheme of 9%.* On site parking.* 23 days annual leave + 8 bank holidays.Other information:Please be aware this is a 12 month fixed term contract.
