Member of the Supply Chain leadership teamManaging a team of 5 process leads across the two sites in Cwmbran and Newportoverseeing the operation across the key process areas of Goods In, Kitting, AftermarketDispatch, Manufacturing Unit Stores and Final Assembly Line DispatchResponsibility for all Inventory Management processes across stores areasBudget oversight for transport and packaging spent of > 750k GBP
Key responsibilities:-
- Establish safety first culture within the Logistics team, responsible for H & S compliance for areassuch as risk assessment, equipment maintenance, documented safe operating procedure, safemanual handling- Developing engagement and empowerment at all levels within the Logistics team enabledthrough the build of skills within the team. Providing pace-setting leadership, encouragingboldness and ambition in our areas, ensuring there is clarity of role responsibility andperformance expectations- Oversee all warehouse functions to ensure business and functional KPI's are met- Develop the Logistics budget, monitor and reporting regularly on forecasted spend, deviationsand mitigations. Account management for preferred freight providers.- Develop effective internal and external relationships, ensuring timely communication and acustomer focus which meets the customers' needs and develop effective logistics structures- Required to support the future plans of SSGB ensure logistics operation is both scalable, fit forpurpose and able to meet customer expectations.- Accountable for inventory accuracy and optimisation, defining and implementing the appropriateannual and continuous counting strategy.C2 - Confidential- Develop internal and external process flows for logistics ensuring optimal performance andalignment to customer needs- Ownership and development of Stores and Logistics BMS processes and works instructions andreview utilisation of ERP system and analytics tools.- Manage and lead a culture of Continuous Improvements.
Profile
- Working knowledge of logistics processes across warehouse management and transport planning including management of performance metrics
- Demonstrable knowledge of MRP
- Experience managing a 3PL contract
- APICS / CPIM or equivalent Desirable
- Ability to lead and develop a team through coaching and authentic leadership
- Ability to communicate across all levels
- Ability to build good working relationships across department and with supplier & customer representatives
- Strong analytical skills and understanding of financial concepts combined with a continuous improvement mindset
- Understanding of Quality processes in Aviation /Aerospace
