Position summary

This roleinvolves working as part of the Manufacturing Engineering Team and taking ownership of site toolmaking and refurbishment.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Using tools, equipment and machinery (i.e. milling machine, lathe, pillar drill etc)
  • Interpreting and working to engineering drawings within the required tolerances
  • Servicing and repair of site tooling and fixtures
  • Rectification of production components/equipment (where appropriate)
  • Ownership of the Master Tooling Register and responsibility of reporting tooling status
  • Housekeeping of tooling and racking identification
  • Management of external tooling repairs and logistics with sub-contractors
  • Oversight of new tooling procurement
  • Assisting with Manufacturing Engineering projects

QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE:

  • An Apprenticeship (or equivalent practical training)
  • Minimum of HNC (or equivalent engineering qualification)
  • Minimum of 3 years relevant experience
  • An ability to be proactive and work with initiative is a prerequisite
  • Shall be trained and proficient in the use of all toolroom machinery and hand tools
  • Experience in adhering to accurate tolerances with different materials
  • Ability to produce engineering drawings and use precise measuring equipment
  • Proficient in MS Office including Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and Excel
  • Ability to work in a responsible manner in terms of Health and Safety
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Welding ability, the use of CAD and CNC machining ability would be a distinct advantage
