SEN Teaching Assistant - Welcoming School in Dagenham
We are looking for an enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming school on a Full Time basis starting ASAP. The school is based in Dagenham and will involve providing support within a mainstream school setting.
About the School:
This is a three-form-entry, local authority community primary school. The age range is from 3 to 11 years (Nursery to Year 6). The school has an on-site after-school provision, which is also the venue for the school's Breakfast Club. Furthermore, they are fortunate enough to have our own catering staff.
Historically in Essex, Dagenham was an agrarian village and remained mostly undeveloped until 1921, when the London County Council began construction of the large Becontree estate.
The local community is very diverse, with a mix of nationalities, giving a great variety of languages and social and ethnic mores within the school community. Nearly 70% of their pupils are classified as speaking English as an additional language.

Requirements:
- Previous experience working with SEN children.
- A genuine passion for working with young children and supporting their development.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with children and colleagues.
- Patience, empathy, and a nurturing approach to supporting children's learning and well-being.
- Strong understanding of various special needs, including autism, ADHD, learning disabilities, and physical disabilities.
- Relevant qualifications, such as CACHE Level 2/3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning or equivalent, are preferred but optional.
