The role will involve:- To accurately abstract and interpret complex clinical data for coding inpatient data using ICD10 and OPCS classifications and input the data onto Medicode system- To liaise with clinicians and their support staff concerning interpretation of case note documentation affecting coding.- To assist the Clinical Coding Service Manager and the Auditor/Trainer on preparation of local agreements and coding policies. - To assist clinical coders prioritise their workload- To work with the Clinical Coding Service Manager to ensure all coding timescales are met and ensure Clinical Coders meet their targets.- To investigate and correct complex clinical coding data rejected or queried by recipient information systems and advise the Data Standards Manager of such problems that could impact on client Performance.- To participate in ongoing clinical coding training to meet national standards and client requirements. This may require travelling to other organisations outside of core working hours.- To attend clinical coding related meetings as directed by the Clinical Coding Service Manager. This may require travelling to other organisations outside of core working hours To apply you would need to be an experienced and Accredited Clinical Coder with a degree qualification in Medicine or Health related subject. You will need to have a minimum of 5 years or equivalent experience of working as a Clinical Coder ideally able to interpret results. You will need to have knowledge and understanding of medical terminology, human anatomy and physiology clinical coding. Temporary Rates
