Compliance, Health and Safety Officer

Alecto Recruitment are partnering with a well-established figure in the Anaerobic Digestion sector who are actively looking for a Compliance Officer to assist with the Health and safety on their portfolio of Anaerobic Digestion Facilities.
 The Role:
- Manage and review documentation (COSHH, Risk Assessments, SOPs, Toolbox Talks).
- Set and track KPIs, reporting to senior management, analyzing incidents/near misses, and identifying corrective actions.
- Ensure compliance and best practices by liaising with department managers.
- Conduct regular audits to ensure adherence to site procedures.
- Organize quarterly health and safety meetings to address issues.
- Monitor compliance across departments (Transport, Operations, Engineering, Commercial).
- Perform gap analysis and update risk assessments as needed.
- Standardize SOPs and deliver related training.
- Communicate and implement new legislation for compliance.
- Contribute to ISO45001 implementation and lead assigned tasks.
- Foster a continuous improvement culture in H&S.
- Monitor KPIs, analyze trends, and produce reports.
- Research and implement appropriate H&S software.
- Support PAS110 and environmental audits, ensuring document control.
Skills and Qualifications:
- The successful candidate will be qualified in IOSH and NEBOSH.
- Good standard of formal education, including GCSE Maths and English (Grade A* - C) or equivalent.
- Level 5 CMI management qualification and/or a lean/continuous improvement qualification is desirable.
- Has a good understanding of Occupational Health & Safety in the Manufacturing Industry.
- Previous experience of auditing against ISO 45001 accreditations.
- Good IT skills including Microsoft Office and Excel.
- Excellent communicator, both written and verbal, at all levels.
- Must be self-motivated and driven, with the ability to make decisions at an appropriate level.
- Have the ability to work under pressure whilst meeting tight deadlines, prioritising workload to ensure tasks are completed in a timely manner.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Must hold a valid clean, Full UK Driving Licence for UK travel.
