Our client is a well-established and respected drylining contractor operating across the commercial and residential sectors. With a strong pipeline of work secured across London and the Southeast, they are looking to strengthen their commercial team with an experienced Quantity Surveyor.

As Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for managing the commercial aspects of multiple drylining packages across new build and refurbishment projects. You'll work closely with clients, subcontractors, site teams, and the senior management team to ensure projects are delivered on budget and in line with contractual obligations.

Quantity Surveyor

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and manage project budgets, valuations, and cost plans.
  • Measure and value work undertaken, preparing interim and final valuations.
  • Prepare and negotiate variations, change orders, and final accounts.
  • Submit applications for payment and manage cash flow forecasting.
  • Procure and manage subcontractor and supplier packages.
  • Carry out site visits to monitor progress and verify valuations.
  • Advise on contractual matters (JCT) and ensure compliance.
  • Provide cost reporting and updates to directors and clients.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities and value engineering options.
  • Support commercial strategy from pre-construction through to completion.

Key Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor in drylining, partitions, or internal fit-out is essential.
  • Excellent understanding of construction contracts, especially JCT forms.
  • Strong commercial acumen and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and standard QS software.
  • Full UK driving licence and willingness to attend site as required.
  • Degree or HNC/HND in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or related discipline preferred.
