Job Description:
As a Gas Installations Field Operations Technician in the social housing sector, you will be responsible for the installation, servicing, and maintenance of gas appliances and systems in residential properties. This role requires a combination of technical expertise, a strong focus on safety, and a commitment to customer satisfaction. Your work will directly contribute to ensuring that tenants' homes remain safe, warm, and energy-efficient.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, repair, and maintain gas heating systems, appliances, and pipework in social housing properties.
- Conduct gas safety checks, inspections, and servicing to ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
- Respond promptly to emergency gas-related issues and repairs, minimizing disruption to tenants.
- Work closely with the housing management team to ensure that work is completed to the highest standards and in a timely manner.
- Maintain accurate records of installations, inspections, and repairs in accordance with company policies.
- Provide professional advice and guidance to tenants regarding gas safety and appliance use.
- Ensure full compliance with Health & Safety, gas regulations, and company procedures.
- Collaborate with other trades and support teams to ensure smooth and efficient operations.
Skills & Experience:
- Valid Gas Safe Certification (essential).
- Proven experience in gas installations, servicing, and repairs, ideally within the social housing sector.
- Strong knowledge of gas safety regulations and best practices.
- Experience working with gas central heating systems and other residential gas appliances.
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to interact positively with tenants.
- A full UK driving license is required.
- Previous experience working in social housing or the public sector is highly desirable.
