Position Description:
Process/Build Engineer – Special Vehicle
Rate: £29.52 (via PAYE Umbrella) increasing after 13 weeks to £35.65 under AWR’s – Agency Worker Regulations.
This is an exciting opportunity to join our client’s Pro Special Vehicle Engineering team to develop special vehicles based on their commercial vehicle product line-up. This position relies on a high level of collaboration with the special vehicle development team and the end user to develop proposals that support their individual use case requirements and delivering them with industry leading uptime and improving customer satisfaction.
Skills required:
- Knowledge of development of manufacturing processes for vehicle modifications whether body, paint, electrical system etc.
- Knowledge of facility installations required to deliver the vehicle modification whether body, paint, electrical system etc.
- Achievement of process metrics including JPH, CPU, HPU, FTT targets for elements of added content
- Identifying process improvements, and training the operating team in how to implement the revised process
- Developing/reviewing cost saving possibilities, providing technical justifications and preparations for projects and implementing changes
Experience required:
- Vehicle Operations experience
- Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing
Education required:
Engineering Degree in relevant subject or equivalent
Education preferred:
Master’s degree in relevant subject
