Are you an experienced Behaviour Mentor who thrives on supporting children with additional behavioral needs? We are looking for a dedicated individual to work with a Key Stage 2 pupil in Dagenham, starting in January. The role involves supporting a child who can exhibit physical behavior, making it a rewarding and impactful opportunity for someone with the right skills and resilience.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Previous experience working in schools, particularly in Key Stage 2.
- A strong background in supporting children with challenging behavior, including those who can be physical.
- Proven ability to use de-escalation techniques and manage challenging situations calmly.
- Strong communication skills to build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents.
- A proactive, patient, and solution-focused approach to challenges.
- Knowledge of behavior management strategies and a passion for helping children succeed.
Key responsibilities:
- Providing one-to-one support to a Key Stage 2 pupil with behavioral needs.
- Implementing behavior strategies and working closely with the SENCO and class teacher.
- Assisting in creating a positive, structured learning environment to support engagement.
- Supporting the child in developing social skills, self-regulation, and resilience.
- Monitoring progress and providing regular feedback to staff and parents.
