Our client a Charity that supports young people is currently seeking a Senior Youth Development Worker to join their team. Working within the Young People’s Services department you will mentor and support young people in their schools and on their estates that are on the edge of school exclusion, mental health issues or Serious Youth Violence through 1-2-1’s, after school positive activities, holiday programmes and residentials.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Support the recruitment, training and development of volunteers to support the activities and mentoring of young people.
  • Carry out community profiles and mapping of young people in their communities, developing and co-design programmes that meet the needs of the young people in their communities. 
  • Ensure programmes and key performance indicators are being met in line with funding outcomes.
  • Contribute to the planning and delivery of programme workshops, weekly activities, holiday activities and residentials developed to engage young people and move them from being service beneficiaries to service deliverers.

About you:

  • You will require a minimum of two years’ working with young people on the edge of serious youth violence  or poor mental health.
  • Minimum Level 3 youth work qualification or equivalent with level 2 in English.
  • Have the ability to develop relationships within secondary schools with all staff, parents and stakeholders within a community context.
  • Have the ability to manage young people in a one-to-one and group setting.
