Job Title: Complex Needs Teaching Assistant
Location: Dagenham | Pay: £95 - £105 per day | Contract: Temp to Perm | Hours: 8:30 AM - 3:30 PM | Start Date: September
We are seeking a passionate and committed Complex Needs Teaching Assistant to support students with complex learning and physical disabilities. The successful candidate will collaborate with teachers, therapists, and parents to provide tailored support that helps each child thrive both academically and socially.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide one-to-one and group support to students with complex needs, ensuring a safe and nurturing learning environment.
- Assist in implementing Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and personalised support strategies to meet each student's needs.
- Work closely with teachers to adapt lessons and activities to accommodate the diverse abilities of students.
- Support students in developing essential social, communication, and life skills.
- Assist with personal care, including toileting, feeding, and mobility support, as needed.
- Monitor student progress, offering feedback to teachers and parents regularly.
- Foster a positive, inclusive school culture that encourages all students to feel valued.
- Participate in training and professional development to stay updated on best practices in special education.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Previous experience working with children with complex needs in an educational setting.
- A relevant qualification in special education or childcare (e.g., CACHE Level 3, NVQ Level 3 in Childcare).
- A solid understanding of learning disabilities, physical disabilities, and behavioural disorders.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work well as part of a team and independently.
- Patience, empathy, and a passion for supporting children with additional needs.
- Basic knowledge of first aid and safeguarding procedures (training will be provided).
