About the Role:

Our client, an OFSTED-rated OUTSTANDING primary school in Dagenham, is seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team for the full academic year. This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a supportive and inclusive environment with a specialist Additional Resource Provision (ARP) for children with Special Educational Needs (SEN).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-on-one and group support to children with SEN in the classroom.
  • Assist the class teacher in implementing Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and adapting learning materials to meet the needs of students.
  • Support the development of social and communication skills through targeted interventions.
  • Foster a safe and inclusive learning environment.
  • Monitor and report on the progress of students, maintaining accurate records.
  • Collaborate with the SENCO, teachers, and other professionals to ensure the best outcomes for students.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with children with SEN is highly desirable.
  • Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude towards working with children with diverse needs.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • A commitment to promoting the welfare and safeguarding of children.
