Are you passionate about helping children with special educational needs? We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team in Dagenham, working in a school that values inclusive education.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Previous experience working in schools, with an understanding of the daily challenges and rewards of working in an educational setting.
  • Specific experience supporting children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), with knowledge of their unique needs and effective strategies to help them succeed in the classroom.
  • Experience working with children with complex needs, demonstrating a strong understanding of how to support their learning, emotional, and behavioral development.
  • A proactive and adaptable approach, able to handle situations calmly and think on your feet.

Responsibilities:

  • Supporting children with special educational needs, particularly those with ASD and complex needs, both in and out of the classroom.
  • Assisting with academic tasks and adapting materials to ensure they are accessible for all students.
  • Providing emotional and behavioral support, promoting independence and social inclusion.
  • Working with teachers and other school staff to create a nurturing and supportive environment.
  • Helping students develop life skills and encouraging positive relationships with their peers.
