The ideal candidate will have:
- Experience working with children with special educational needs (SEN), including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), ADHD, or behavioral challenges.
- A solid understanding of strategies to support children's emotional, social, and academic needs.
- Strong interpersonal skills to build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents.
- A proactive, patient, and resilient approach to overcoming challenges in the classroom.
- A commitment to inclusive education and a passion for supporting all learners.
Key responsibilities:
- Providing one-to-one and small group support to pupils with SEN, helping them access the curriculum.
- Developing and implementing tailored support strategies in collaboration with the SENCO and teaching staff.
- Supporting the emotional and social development of students, helping them build confidence and independence.
- Assisting in managing challenging behavior in a calm and professional manner.
- Monitoring and documenting pupil progress, adapting support plans as necessary.
- Contributing to the wider school community by fostering an inclusive and positive environment.
