Speech and Language TA | £95-105 Per Day | Dagenham (IG11) | ASAP Start | Long Term

LTF Recruitment are partnered with a primary school within Dagenham (IG11) who are in search of a Speech and Language Specialist TA to support a student who needs 1:1 support with their speech and communication. With a supportive and friendly team, the school offers an excellent surrounding to develop your skills and expand your career knowledge.

Main duties will entail:

  • Working closely with a student to support speech and language within a mainstream classroom.
  • Working with a student requiring additional support both on a 1:1 basis and within smaller group environments.
  • Taking responsibility for the provision of care and appropriate learning opportunities for your designated child.
  • Supervising children at all times, protecting them from dangerous or harmful situations.
  • Liaise with the child's parent/carer, providing them with a daily activity record.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A minimum of level 2 teaching assistant Qualification
  • Previous UK experience working with children in a school environment.
  • An excellent understanding of special educational needs including speech and language, ADHD, challenging behaviour, and developmental delays.
  • Calming mannerisms in challenging situations.
  • The ability to think and act quickly both as part of a team and independently.
  • Strong behaviour management skills while creating a fun learning environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
