RLE International is working on behalf of their Essex based Automotive Client, who are currently looking for a Senior Engineer – Special Vehicle Supply Chain Management to support and join their expanding team.

Position Description:

Senior Engineer - Special Vehicle Supply Chain Management 

Rate: £29.52 (via PAYE Umbrella) increasing after 13 weeks to £35.65 under AWR’s – Agency Worker Regulations.

This is an exciting opportunity to join our client’s Pro Special Vehicle Engineering team to develop special vehicles based on their commercial vehicle product line-up.  This position relies on a high level of collaboration with the special vehicle development team and the end user to develop proposals that support their individual use case requirements and delivering them with industry leading uptime and improving customer satisfaction.

Skills required:

  • Knowledge of development, implementation, and management of vehicle parts sourcing using both corporate and ad-hoc systems
  • Knowledge of performing due diligence for supplier sourcing ensuring all suppliers support our client’s standards
  • Knowledge of supply chain route setups working with internal logistics support to gain efficiency where possible
  • Manage internal stock ensuring counts are up to date to protect build program
  • Monitor and develop roadmaps for supply chain improvements implementing them and coaching the team through the change
  • Responsible for the Manage the Change process ensuring zero obsolescence through change
  • Liaison with Vehicle Plant based MP&L and purchasing functions to ensure base vehicle changes are considered within Special Vehicle Manage the Change process

Experience required:

  • Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing.
  • Working knowledge of Corporate PC based MP&L programs and software packages
  • A high level of presentation and communication to senior executive level

Experience Preferred:

Special Vehicle/prototype parts sourcing, procurement and delivery experience

Education required:

Engineering Degree in relevant subject or equivalent

Education preferred:

Master’s degree in relevant subject

Travel: UK -  To support supplier selection and delivery travelling to their location(s) as required

On site – 5 days (hybrid option – NO)
