We are recruiting on behalf of our client for a Quality Manager to join their team based in Edinburgh. This is a Mon-Fri, majority onsite position with option to work remotely one day per week.

Main Purpose: The Quality Manager will manage a team of two direct reports  ensuring that the organization's Food products consistently meet internal and external quality standards, including legal compliance and customer expectations. The role involves designing and implementing quality control processes, testing systems, and performance strategies to achieve these standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement quality control procedures and standards.
  • Collaborate with production management to enhance operating procedures for quality improvement.
  • Ensure all products and processes comply with regulatory standards, implementing necessary changes.
  • Manage internal audits, handle complaints, and ensure compliance with food safety regulations.
  • Lead and maintain audit schedules, including BRC, EHO, and customer audits.
  • Update and monitor food legislation compliance.
  • Maintain and improve the site’s hygiene and food safety standards.
  • Manage and report on the results of quality control tests.
  • Develop and maintain product specifications in line with legislation.
Essential Requirements:
  • Proven Experience: Demonstrable track record of several years of leadership in developing and managing food safety culture.
  • HACCP Certification: Level 3 or higher.
  • Food Safety/Hygiene: Certification in food safety/hygiene.
  • BSc in Food Technology: A degree-level qualification in Food Technology or a related field.
  • Qualified Auditor: Experience and qualifications in auditing.
  • Site Hygiene and Safe Food Standards: Prior experience in managing and improving site hygiene and food safety standards.
  • Team Management: Experience in managing a small to medium-sized team.
