Health and Safety Advisor (Contract)

Join a specialist Principal Contractor as a Health and Safety Advisor and play a pivotal role in shaping the success on a unique construction project in Ayrshire. With a portfolio that includes some of the UK's largest infrastructure developments, this is your opportunity to make a tangible impact on-site safety and contribute to industry-leading projects. Your expertise will be key to ensuring the highest standards of health and safety are maintained, protecting the workforce and driving the project's success from the ground up. Its important to note that this position will require the successful candidates to work Saturday's further down the line as the project progresses.

Responsibilities of the Health and Safety Advisor will include:

  • Assisting, advising, and coaching contractors to ensure they can achieve the efficient and effective delivery of the health and safety strategy
  • Conducting gap analysis to identify root cause and making recommendations to prevent reoccurrence
  • Auditing and reporting on health and safety performance
  • Constantly assessing opportunities for health and safety improvements and sharing best practice across the site

The successful Health and Safety Advisor will have:

  • Proven experience in a similar role ideally within construction or civil engineering or a related industry
  • Hold a NEBOSH Certificate or other level 6 health and safety qualification,
  • Experience operating at site influencing and engaging key stakeholders
  • A NEBOSH / NCRQ certificate or equivalent
  • Experience with Heavy Civils and Lifting operations is desirable
