A reputable Chartered Accountancy Practice based in Darlington. They are a highly experienced firm of Chartered Accountants who are looking to add an Accounts Assistant to their team.

Overview:

As an Accounts Assistant within our firm, you will play a crucial role in supporting our team with various accounting tasks, including accounts preparation, tax returns, administration, and audit work. This position offers the opportunity for professional growth through on-the-job training and study support towards AAT, ACCA, or ACA qualifications.

Responsibilities:

- Providing essential support to the accounting team

- Conducting accounts preparation tasks

- Handling tax returns such as Personal Tax and Corporation Tax

- Assisting with administrative duties

- Participating in audit work as required

Requirements:

- Strong communication and organizational skills

- Previous experience in an accountancy practice setting

- Experience with Xero would be advantageous

- Proficiency in IT tools including Excel and Word

- Numeracy skills and attention to detail

- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
