Are you looking for an exciting opportunity to join a growing business? I am assisting a client who are based on the outskirts or Darlington as they are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Accounts Assistant to support their finance team. This role is fully office based in their Darlington offices.

This is a multi-functional role that ensures the smooth running of our finance department and supports the Assistant Financial Controller in delivering timely and accurate financial information.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Check and balance daily banking against takings
  • Perform daily bank reconciliations and process transactions
  • Audit financial systems, correct discrepancies, and report concerns
  • Assist with accruals, prepayments, and financial reporting
  • Input and verify purchase invoices
  • Cross-check function sheets for correct revenue allocation
  • Support month-end reconciliations and VAT returns
  • Maintain accurate financial records and Making Tax Digital compliance
  • Assist with Sales and Purchase Ledger operations
  • Ensure compliance with financial procedures and statutory regulations
  • Maintain an organised and efficient accounts system
  • Promote teamwork and positive workplace relationships
  • Uphold health & safety standards, reporting hazards and attending relevant training
