Jackson Hogg is delighted to be supporting with the appointment of a Senior-Principal Mechanical Engineer (DOE), to workfor a leading company who specialise in thedesign and engineering across the international oil and gas industry. You will be responsible for the design of tanks and vessels, supervising/line managing other engineers and the drafting team, and providing technical expertise for projects across the department.Other responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Provide technical support for Oil, Gas and LNG projects across the department and externally, coordinating efficiently with sub-contractors and vendors.
  • Design of tanks and vessels to correct codes and standards (including international standards),
  • Production and checking of all design documentation.
  • Provide technical input to FEED, feasibility and other studies.
  • Lead mechanical engineering design activities
  • Supervise/manage the mechanical team in producing designs, drawings and other deliverable to standard and on-time.
  • Manage resources, costs and deadlines to meet project objectives.
  • Ensure all codes/standards and procedures are always followed.
  • Check and validate calculations, reports, data sheets, specifications and vendor supplied documentation.
  • Contribute towards the continuous improvement with the Mechanical Section and deputise when required.
  • Carry out engineering analysis, calculations and procedural work as required.

Requirements:

  • BSc, B. Eng or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering (MSc/M. Eng in Mechanical Engineering advantageous)
  • Chartered Status (advantageous)
  • Working knowledge of codes, standards and accepted working practices of mechanical engineering in international oil and gas and petrochemical industries.
  • Design experience of storage tanks and pressure vessels
  • Experienced working with analysis packages
  • Experienced in 3D design, working with relevant 3D Design software.
  • Experience leading and managing a team ofmechanical designers within amulti-discipline environment
  • Leadership skills and excellent communication
  • Ability to motivate and make decision making ability based on supportable logic and knowledge
  • Ability to identify potential innovations and cost benefits.
