Location: Darlington, hybrid working is available.


Hours: 7.45am- 4.45pm, Monday to Thursday, 7.45am to 12.45pm Friday


Salary: 55,000 - 60,000 per annum, depending on experience + 23 Days Holiday + Bank Holidays + Hybrid working + Private Medical Care.


The Role:


We are working with a leading engineering firm specialising in the design, development, and implementation of steel structures. They are looking for a Structural Project Engineer to focus on the design and development of permanent and temporary structures. There will be a particular focus on bridges, tower systems and complex structures.


Responsibilities:
  • Design conceptual and detailed plans for permanent and temporary structures, with a focus on steel construction.
  • Conduct erection engineering, including the preparation of method statements.
  • Design and specify specialised equipment, particularly for heavy lifting and moving projects.
  • Perform static analyses of structures using finite element analysis (FEA) computer programs.
  • Prepare detailed calculations using Excel.
  • Create sketches and drawings using AutoCAD or by hand.
  • Collaborate closely with the CAD team.
  • Develop standard spreadsheet solutions suitable for use with Excel.
  • Assist in the management of the design office and provide leadership to other team members.
  • Attend on-site when necessary to provide support during heavy lifting and moving operations.

Skills Required:
  • Experience in analysis and design of structures, particularly in steel.
  • Experience in the use of finite element analysis computer programs.
  • Good general IT skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, E-mail systems).
  • Good presentation and communications skills.
  • Relevant site experience.
  • Good working knowledge of Eurocodes, particularly EN1993.
  • Full UK Driving Licence.
