The Burtree Inn, a renowned establishment in Darlington, County Durham is seeking an experienced Sous Chef to join our dynamic team.

This role is a 4 day working week - which means great work/life balance.
As the Sous Chef you will be responsible for:
  • Menu Development - create innovative and enticing menus that showcase your culinary experise and cater to diverse tastes
  • Kitchen Management - oversee all aspects of kitchen operations, ensuring efficiency, cleanliness and adherence to safety and hygiene standards
  • Staff Leadership - inspire and lead a team of kitchen staff, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment
  • Quality Control - maintain high standards of food quality, presentation and consistency to exceed guest expectations
  • Cost Management - control food costs through effective inventory management, portion control and waste reduction
  • Compliance - ensure compliance with health and safety regulations as well as food hygiene standards
Qualifications
  • Minimum of 5 years proven experience in a senior chef role, with a track record of success in a high volume establishment
  • Strong culinary skills with a passion for creating diverse and innovative dishes
