Accounts Manager

I am delighted to be working with a family run group that is currently going through an exciting period of growth.They are keen to recruit an Accounts Manager to join their Finance team in Darlington.

Duties/Responsibilities:As the Accounts Manager you will be responsible for:HMRC reporting•    Designated responsible person in the business for all HMRC related processing:o    VAT - Preparation, submission, and reconciliation of the VAT returno    Expenses policy – development and operation of a HMRC compliant company expenses policy.o    P11d - preparation and submission of all P11d’s for the group.o    PSA - preparation, submission, and ongoing development of PSA return.o    National Statistics – coordination of various returns•    Management and supervision of 3 members of staff to maximise efficiency and effectiveness of the team.•    Support with process and systems improvements to improve insights and outputs to the business.Core transactions•    Oversee all the transactional elements of the accounts to support the management account’s function including commenting and highlighting anomalies or areas of concern.•    Manage the Finance team to deliver a consistently high standard of processing across: o    Purchase ledger processingo    Supervise the purchase ledger to ensure strong coverage of supplier statement reconciliations are completed.o    Sales ledger processingo    Supervision of housekeeping across the ledgers to ensure correct allocations and matching.o    Monitoring, management, and timely resolution of any aged balances•    Preparation of monthly payment run and associated ad-hoc payments during the month.•    Support collection and reconciliation of group park fees and residential fees collection following annual increase.Balance Sheet Reconciliations•    Overall control and reconciliation of balance sheet and supporting reconciliations. Including but not limited to:o    Daily bank reconciliationso    Maintain Fixed Assets Registero    Oversee and maintain Customer Deposits register for MCP which can be more than £500k.o    Intercompany reconciliations.o    Unauthorised purchaseso    Oversee commission reconciliation for insurance commissions.o    Calculate supplier rebates due to accrue accordingly.Annual Audit•    A key member of the team to oversee the annual audit for the business and any associated companies.•    Preparation of appropriate schedules and supporting documentation to enable a smooth and efficient year-end.•    Liaise closely with the auditors - both during field work and remotely as required.Other•    Support the Management Team as and when required.•    General ad-hoc duties of a similar nature to support the running of the business.•    Review existing office suppliers for head office and general procurement improvements.Benefits include:As the Accounts Manager you will be entitled to:•    Salary – £35,000 circa. •    Holidays up to 25 (+8 Bank holidays)•    5% pension contribution•    Company Discounts •    Employee Assistance Programme and Benefits Portal•    On Site parking (fully site based role)
