Manpower UK are supporting our reputable client (water division) in recruiting a permanent Planner/Scheduler to join the Darlington depot.

Planning & Scheduling Pro: Drive efficiency by managing reactive and pre-planned workstreams, ensuring seamless support and exceptional service delivery

About the role:

  • Effectively utilise available resources to handle reactive works, pre-planned tasks, and ad-hoc requests, ensuring maximum efficiency and full resource utilisation across all workstreams.
  • Be proactive in the planning and pre-planning of work to ensure there is no unproductive time.
  • Review outstanding works orders with a view to 'shelving' jobs and creating a work stack to be delivered during off-peak period.
  • Adhere to client processes in delivering agreed service level agreements, while also working efficiently and effectively with the commercial impact of your actions always in mind.
  • Screen incoming works orders from the client to ensure they contain all the relevant and accurate details before forwarding to the appropriate operational unit(s).


About you:

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment is essential.
  • Experience in delivering excellent customer service to front-line customers is desirable
  • Previous experience in planning and scheduling roles is advantageous.
  • Positive attitude with a proactive approach to improvement.


The hours are Monday to Friday 8am - 4.30pm but there is a shift rota which includes a shift of 6am - 3.30pm and also a 3.30pm - 12am with the phone overnight for emergencies (this shift is work from home). You will work a 1 in 5 rota.
