Fawkes And Reece have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join a UK leading tier 1 main contractor abased in County Durham.

This role will be split between site, remote / home and head office in Durham. You will be working on a £60m D&B mixed tenure designer outlet centre comprising of over 100 retail units.

Duties of a Quantity Surveyor:

  • To be involved in negotiation of prices and obtaining quotes for works, materials and plant as required in compliance with company procedure
  • To quality check invoice details from all suppliers, ensuring the company gets value for money on all jobs carried out.
  • To build strong relationships with our customers to ensure open communication and expectations of invoicing is met at all times.
  • To prepare and submit regular and accurate cost/value reports. To manage the commercial aspects of subcontracts in compliance with commercial procedures. Includes obtaining quotations, evaluating tender returns, valuing subcontract works and payments and agreeing subcontract final accounts.

Requirements of a Quantity Surveyor:

  • Relevant Degree or Qualifications
  • Experience working for a main contractor
  • Experience on new build projects.
  • Proven experience of developing client relationships.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Excellent planning, organising, prioritisation and project management skills.
