The RoleWe are pleased to be supporting a successful FMCG business with sites in both the UK and Europe in their search for a Group Demand Planner to join their thriving demand planning team. Reporting to the Group Demand Manager the job holder is responsible for providing effective and efficient management of demand forecasts, inventory projections and service levels for all allocated brands for all group businesses. Some of the key responsibilities are:
  • Demand forecasting – Identify any changes to the trend in average or period sales, ensuring variances are quickly and correctly identified and that appropriate action is taken to ensure acceptable levels of stock holding are in place to achieve both service and inventory value targets.
  • The generation of new item demand forecasts, taking into account available internal business and external market information, as well as the current trends on comparable products.
  • Work closely with the Brand Managers to identify the stock requirements for promotions and predicted changes in market demand.
  • Identify obsolete, slow moving and excess stock items and work with Brand Managers to ensure effective reduction of these in line with stated targets.
  • Identify, review and mitigate the impact of surplus inventory on order as the result of forecast changes.
