An expanding Construction company based in North Kent, is looking to hire an Assistant Accountant to join them on a permanent basis.  This role is working 5 days per week in the office.  This role offers a career path to become Finance Manager for the right person. Reporting to the Finance Director and working in a small finance team, the Assistant Accountant will:

Duties of the Assistant Accountant Role:

  • Lead on the Credit Control duties for the business including, chasing outstanding debts by telephone and email, reducing DSO days, produce credit reports and build long-term relationships with the company's clients.
  • Process purchase invoices and reconcile the purchase ledger
  • Perform Balance sheet reconciliations
  • Assist in ad-hoc reporting alongside the Finance Director 

Requirements of the Assistant Accountant Role:

  • AAT Qualified or equivalent
  • Excellent transactional accounting knowledge including both Credit Control and Accounts Payable
  • Good MS Excel skills including pivot tables and v-lookups
  • Strong communication skills and ability to build lasting working relationships
