Chef de Partie (6-Month Maternity Cover) Monday to Friday.

I am seeking a dedicated and passionate Chef de Partie to join my client on a 6-month fixed-term contract, covering maternity leave. This is a hands-on role supporting the Chef Manager in delivering exceptional service in our staff restaurant.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare, cook, and present high-quality breakfast and lunch dishes as per the set menu.
  • Assist the Chef Manager in recipe development and menu planning.
  • Act as the lead in the Chef Manager's absence, overseeing junior staff, kitchen management, and meal preparation.
  • Serve meals, operate the till, and manage customer orders.
  • Maintain hygiene standards in food prep, storage, and serving areas, ensuring compliance with HACCP requirements.
  • Support stock ordering and replenishment.
  • Assist with cleaning duties, including washing tableware and kitchen equipment.
  • Complete necessary paperwork and liaise with food service contractors.
  • Monitor waste control and follow food hygiene standards.

Ideal Candidate:

  • Proven experience in cooking, baking, and menu development in a similar environment.
  • Knowledge of Basic Food Hygiene and catering regulations.
  • Ability to work independently and adapt to new processes.
  • Strong commitment to health and safety, with excellent communication and team-working skills.
  • Ability to handle pressure and provide excellent customer service.
  • Basic computer skills (MS Word, Excel, Outlook).

Qualifications:

  • Essential: Basic Food Hygiene Level 2.
  • Desirable: NVQ Level 2 in Hospitality or Catering.
