Job SummaryMy client, a leading M&E Building Services provider, are seeking a detail-oriented Mechanical Estimator to join their team. The Mechanical Estimator will play a crucial role in analysing project specifications and requirements to prepare accurate cost estimates. This position requires the Mechanical Estimator to have a strong understanding of cost control and the ability to communicate effectively with various stakeholders. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.Duties

  • Review project plans, specifications, and related documents to determine the scope of work.
  • Prepare detailed cost estimates for materials, labour, and overheads.
  • Collaborate with project managers and engineers to understand project requirements and constraints.
  • Conduct market research to gather current pricing information for materials and services.
  • Identify potential risks and opportunities within projects that may affect costs.
  • Maintain accurate records of estimates, including changes and revisions.
  • Provide support during the bidding process by preparing bid documents and presenting estimates to clients.
  • Assist in the development of cost control measures to ensure project budgets are adhered to.
Skills
  • Strong analytical skills with attention to detail for accurate estimation.
  • Proficient in cost control methodologies and practices.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, for effective stakeholder engagement.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while also being self-motivated.
  • Proficiency in estimation software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • A background in construction or engineering is advantageous but not essential.
