£41,600 per annum
Job purpose:
The job role will be focused on training two new apprentices who start on our Crane Engineer Apprenticeship programme in September 24.You would need to have extensive knowledge and be comfortable teaching electrics (e.g. CAMBUS), hydraulics, and mechanics to the new apprentices.
Preferably you would have extensive experience maintaining, diagnosing and repairing plant machinery and you are at a stage in life whereby a role which is teaching based from one fixed location (our workshops) would suit your preferences.
Experience & Qualifications:
We are looking for candidates with the following experience and qualifications:
Minimum (or equivalent) level 2 NVQ in plant mechanics, deep understanding and knowledge of electrics, hydraulics and mechanics.
5+ years experience of working with either heavy plant, mobile or crawler cranes.
Knowledge and understanding of various electrical systems such as CAMBUS, including how to diagnose and fix any errors that may occur.
Main Responsibilities:
To teach the apprentices how to read hydraulic & wiring schematics provided by each manufacturer.
To mentor two apprentices as they progress through their three-year apprenticeship programme.
To manage the workshop, in an organised and logical fashion.
Measure the performance of each apprentice to ensure they are learning and improving as they progress through their apprenticeship.

Other Responsibilities:
Ensure full compliance with all company policies and procedures including health and safety.
Health and Safety:
Ensure all company rules pertaining to Health and Safety are adhered to.
Carrying out any other duties, such as ad hoc projects, as requested by the crane manager that are within your skills and knowledge.
