Pearson Whiffin Recruitment’s Manufacturing, Engineering and Technical division is currently working exclusively with an established SME who are at an exciting point of expansion, already a leader in their field!

We are looking for a technically minded Electrical Assembly and Soldering Technician on a full time, permanent basis, with opportunity to progress long term.

Day to day duties will be varied, and include:

  • Assembling electrical products including soldering and wiring of circuit boards
  • Reading and interpreting technical specifications and schematics accurately with a meticulous attention to detail
  • Supporting the assembly of a range of products, offering ideas to improve processes in a positive way if required
  • Using a range of hand and power tools
  • Using measuring equipment
  • Working as part of a team towards shared goals, clearly communicating across departments
  • Supporting events and exhibitions, being customer facing and flexible to travel on occasion
  • Offering technical support and guidance internally to support business need
  • Resolving technical problems or queries proactively
  • Testing and quality control to a high standard with all associated administration
  • Pro-actively supporting warehouse functions by receiving and preparing deliveries during busy periods
  • Maintaining a clean and safe working environment
  • Ensuring regular communication regarding stock and equipment
  • Maintenance of equipment
  • Recording information accurately

To be considered for this role you will:

  • Have previous experience in a relevant role – fault finding, assembly and manufacture of electrical of electronic products
  • Be an all-rounder with some mechanical understanding
  • Be able to use hand and power tools with demonstrable experience
  • Have carried out testing on electrical or electronic equipment
  • Solder to a good standard (testing will form part of the interview process)
  • Enjoy working under pressure, able to keep a cool head and a positive attitude
  • Understand that workloads vary and be able to adapt your approach, offering support to your colleagues where needed
  • Be a self-starter, able to work independently using your initiative
  • Approach problems with a solution focused outlook
  • Have a good level of physical fitness to meet the demands of the role, as you may be on your feet a lot, and will need to be able to lift heavy items at times
  • Demonstrate reliability and employability through a solid working history
  • Show an enthusiasm to develop your skills further, keen to learn and progress

The BEST candidates will have:

  • An electrical qualification, training or certification of some kind
  • PAT testing experience
  • Excellent IT skills with the ability to contribute to streamlining processes
  • Administrative and customer service experience
  • Stock management experience
  • Experience assembling lighting displays
