The Role: As an Applications & Development Engineer, you will play a crucial role in supporting the global sales and applications engineering teams. Your primary focus will be to maximise the potential of existing products while developing bespoke solutions to meet customer needs. You'll collaborate with both internal teams and suppliers to ensure high-quality product modifications, provide technical support, and maintain the brand’s trusted reputation.

This role is ideal for someone with strong technical skills in automotive electronics and a passion for customer interaction. You’ll also engage in training, documentation, and troubleshooting to ensure products are successfully adapted and maintained for optimal performance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide exceptional customer service, especially in aftermarket scenarios.
  • Develop innovative solutions to meet application challenges.
  • Manage bespoke product modifications by coordinating with suppliers.
  • Prepare technical documentation, CAD drawings, system schematics, and installation instructions.
  • Offer product support to customers, both internally and externally.
  • Conduct technical training for customers and colleagues.
  • Ensure close coordination and communication with suppliers and other internal departments.
  • Troubleshoot customer issues and provide effective technical solutions.

Essential Skills & Experience:

  • HNC or NVQ in electrical/electronics or a related technical field.
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in automotive electrics/electronics, in a customer-facing role.
  • Strong background in B2B environments with a focus on product development and adaptation.
  • Technical proficiency with DC circuits, analogue/digital electronics, and electronic test equipment.
  • Experience with CAD (2D and electrical schematics) and MS Office applications.
